Description:
As a Senior Cloud Database Administrator (Snowflake), you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Snowflake environment to ensure optimal functionality, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness. You will play a key role in leading our team of database administrators and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet the organization’s data management needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on managing Snowflake environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Snowflake architecture, features, and functionalities.
- Experience in performance optimization, security management, capacity planning, and cost management in Snowflake environments.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Snowflake Environment Management: Provision resources, configure databases, and monitor performance to maintain the Snowflake environment.
- Performance Optimization: Implement strategies for optimizing database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and data partitioning.
- Security Management: Maintain security best practices, including user access control, data encryption, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor resource utilization and plan for capacity expansion to accommodate future growth and workload demands.
- Cost Management: Identify opportunities for cost optimization, such as resource utilization optimization and leveraging cost-effective storage options.
- Team Leadership and Mentoring: Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to junior team members to help them develop their skills as Snowflake administrators.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and ensure the Snowflake environment meets their needs.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Document configuration, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices for managing Snowflake databases to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest trends in Snowflake technology and data management best practices, and recommend improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Snowflake environment.
