Design and maintain an automated update pipeline using Blue/Green strategies to toggle between system versions with minimal outage.
Requirements
We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the Atellica Near-Zero Downtime Update – Proof of Concept project, aimed at dramatically reducing downtime during updates of Atellica diagnostic platforms (currently around 2 hours per update).
The project involves prototyping and comparing two candidate architectures:
KVM-based Blue/Green virtualization
A/B Dual Drive (bare metal)
The work spans the full cycle – from discovery and lab prototyping to on-site testing on the client’s real hardware (analyzer, PCC, and associated computing units) and a final analysis phase delivering recommendations for productization
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, automation, and scripting
- Strong proficiency in Bash and Python
- Experience with virtualization (KVM or similar hypervisors) is a plus
- Understanding of orchestration, switchover, rollback, and recovery processes for distributed/multi-component systems
- Experience building monitoring and alerting (infrastructure health metrics)
- Experience building CI/CD or deployment automation
- Strong technical documentation skills (runbooks, workflow documentation)
Nice to Have
- Experience in regulated industries (medtech, healthcare, industrial systems)
- Experience with bare-metal provisioning and A/B deployment schemes
- Understanding of cybersecurity and validation & verification (V&V) requirement
