Requirements
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration within hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure services, including compute, networking, and IAM.
- Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate platform operations.
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar).
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Working knowledge of DML operations in relational (Postgres, Oracle) and NoSQL (Cassandra) databases.
- Understanding of Kafka event streaming concepts, including producers, consumers, and topic management.
- Familiarity with caching mechanisms such as Redis or Memcached for improving data access performance.
- Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, DNS, security principles, and zero-trust models.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).

Job responsibilities
Platform Operations & Support:
Own day-to-day operations of hybrid infrastructure supporting T-Mobile’s platform services.
Ensure uptime, performance, and security across on-prem, AWS, and Azure environments
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, configuration, and deployment issues impacting platform reliability.
Lead patching, updates, and configuration management with minimal oversight.
Participate in on-call rotation and drive improvements in incident response and postmortem practices.
Automation & Infrastructure-as-Code:
Design, develop, and maintain automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to increase operational efficiency.
Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent frameworks.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform infrastructure and environment deployments (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).
Establish documentation standards and reusable modules for consistent automation delivery.
Hybrid Cloud Environment Engineering:
Architect, provision, and maintain compute, networking, and storage services across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments.
Engineer hybrid connectivity solutions and optimize data flow between data centers and cloud resources.
Manage shared platform services such as container registries, configuration management, and identity systems.
Partner with DevOps, SRE, and application teams to deliver stable, scalable platform environments.
Data, Messaging & Caching (DML Operations):
Execute and optimize DML operations within Postgres, Oracle, and Cassandra environments under existing organizational DDL structures.
Develop and maintain integrations with Kafka for event-driven data pipelines, message publishing, and asynchronous workloads.
Implement caching strategies (Redis, in-memory caches) to reduce query latency and improve application performance.
Support database performance tuning, data ingestion, and transformation activities aligned with enterprise governance standards.
Monitoring, Observability & Reliability:
Develop and manage observability solutions leveraging Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or ELK.
Implement proactive monitoring, log analysis, and metrics-based alerting for early issue detection.
Lead efforts in automation for self-healing, scaling, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with SREs to improve mean time to resolution (MTTR) and overall platform reliability.
Collaboration, Leadership & Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to Agile delivery teams, collaborating with developers and architects to deliver infrastructure enhancements.
Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance in automation, monitoring, and hybrid design.
Advocate for DevOps and automation best practices across engineering teams.
Stay informed on emerging tools and cloud-native practices that improve reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
