Description
- You will understand GlobalLogic’s digital engineering methods and management techniques, facilitate clients in the Japanese market, and establish a method for managing digital engineering projects as GlobalLogic Japan.
- You will also be responsible for promoting the establishment of a professional human resources team in GlobalLogic Japan.
- GlobalLogic Japan has four roles: Architect, project manager, Strategist, and Designer. The project manager is expected to work with each role, taking responsibility for multiple projects and coordinating project promotion.
Requirements
- The Project Manager at GLJ is a seasoned professional responsible for the successful delivery of complex, enterprise-level solutions, driving value across the entire lifecycle from pre-sales to post-sales to foster long-term client partnerships.
- This role focuses on leading the execution of customer-facing engagements, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest quality standards while achieving robust business outcomes and high customer satisfaction.
- You will collaborate with global teams to establish and drive best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English. (Benchmark: TOEIC 800+ for native Japanese speakers. For non-native speakers: Fluent Japanese with a deep understanding of Japanese business etiquette and the ability to communicate smoothly with clients.)
- Experienced in managing and extending long-term service contracts to ensure stable, recurring project delivery.
- A proven track record of addressing complex customer challenges by leveraging one or more emerging technologies—such as AI, Modern Cloud Architecture, Data Platforms, Metaverse, Smart Factory, or Smart Mobility—to propose and close mid- to large-scale DX projects.
- Preferred: Experience in B2C business or industries such as Finance, Investment (PE/CVC), Railway, and Energy, particularly with a strong background in handling highly sensitive or IoT data as system integrator.
- Nice to have: Experience with management consulting or consulting services.
Key Responsibilities as a Project Manager:
- 8+ years of advanced technology/consulting leadership experience (with 2+ years managing complex projects) in a program or project management role
- Hands-on development background with deep knowledge of cloud-native technologies. Proven ability to navigate both Agile and Waterfall environments, with a preference for candidates experienced in hybrid methodologies.
- Proven experience in budget management, project profitability, team leadership, and stakeholder management.
- Experienced in driving high-level client engagements through strategic communication and executive presentations.
- Experienced in steering global, cross-functional teams to align project delivery with customer expectations, ensuring that proposals are both strategic and responsive to customer needs.
Preferred: Across Pre-sales and Post-sales phases:
- Deep understanding of business, market, and IT strategies, with the ability to translate them into actionable project roadmaps.
- Lead negotiations with customers in Japanese and with global stakeholders in English to ensure project alignment.
- Organize and drive collaborative sessions with cross-functional teams to foster alignment between internal and external partners.
Job responsibilities
- Responsible for managing a portfolio of multiple projects (programs) or overseeing highly interdependent projects.
- Responsible for defining project scope and workflows with global teams, organizing team structures, and presenting strategic plans to customers to obtain formal agreement and contract.
- As a key member of GlobalLogic Japan, collaborate with lead strategists, designers, and architects to estimate the on-site effort required to drive and scale DX projects.
- Define the project vision, communicate expected outcomes with clear execution guidelines, and orchestrate the team’s efforts throughout all project phases.
- Ensure program-wide alignment and performance standards by managing reporting cycles and guaranteeing that delivery meets all deadline, budget, and Scope of Work (SOW) requirements.
- Strengthen team capabilities by coordinating internal and external resources and providing targeted training, coaching, and mentoring to foster professional growth.
- Contribute to building and scaling the Project Management organization within GlobalLogic Japan by developing effective delivery practices.
