GlobalLogic is inviting an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and work on a strategic engagement with Cloudera, a global leader in enterprise data management and analytics.
You will be part of a highly skilled international team responsible for building and optimizing large-scale data platforms that power mission-critical business solutions. This role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge big data technologies and influence how enterprises process and analyze their data.
Requirements
8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
Strong hands-on expertise with:
- Apache Spark (batch and/or streaming)
- Apache Hive or Impala
Solid understanding of distributed systems and SQL query optimization.
Experience with big data ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Oozie, etc.).
Proficiency in one of the programming languages: Python, Scala, or Java.
Good knowledge of data modeling and ETL design patterns.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in an agile, globally distributed team.
Good spoken and written English (B2+).
Job responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Apache Spark, Hive, or Impala.
Implement best practices for data modeling, performance tuning, and query optimization.
Collaborate with product and platform teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance data solutions.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across different environments.
Perform root cause analysis on data issues and provide long-term solutions.
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and processes.
