Anand Birje

As the Chairman of the Board and CEO, Anand Birje is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and global growth of the organization. An accomplished global technology executive, Anand brings more than 25 years of experience building and scaling global businesses and driving organizational transformations across cloud data, AI, and digital engineering. Before joining Hitachi in August 2026, Anand served as CEO of Encora, an AI-native digital engineering company, where he led the company through significant growth and its $2.35B acquisition by Coforge in April 2026. Prior to Encora, he spent more than 15 years at HCL Technologies, holding several senior leadership positions, most recently serving as President of Digital Business Services, where he led global digital applications and data analytics businesses and strategic acquisitions that expanded the company’s global consulting and delivery capabilities. He was also among the founding leaders of HCL Tech’s infrastructure services business, helping scale it to more than $2.5B in annual revenue within a decade. Earlier in his career, he focused on industrial control systems, SCADA, and manufacturing execution systems (MES) for Emerson Electric and Cap Gemini, gaining valuable experience in the convergence of operational and digital technologies. Birje has also contributed to industry research with UC Irvine and Columbia Business School and served as a strategy officer for the World Economic Forum’s Industry 4.0 and Digital Workforce groups.
