Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud / Platform Engineer (or AWS Solutions Architect) to design, build, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS services, infrastructure as code, DevOps practices, and cloud governance. This role involves building foundational cloud environments (landing zones), implementing security and compliance controls, and enabling development teams through automation and platform engineering practices.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and product teams to deliver reliable, cost-efficient, and well-architected cloud solutions aligned with business needs.

Job Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC)
Experience with multi-account environments using AWS Organizations and Control Tower
Deep understanding of IAM, security best practices, and compliance frameworks
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK)
Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, logging, tracing)
Scripting experience in Python, Bash, or similar languages
Strong understanding of networking concepts (routing, DNS, VPNs, subnets)
Experience applying AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
Nice-to-Have Skills
Advanced networking knowledge (BGP, multi-region architectures)
Experience with GitOps tools like Flux or Argo CD
Familiarity with platform engineering and developer experience tools
Experience with hybrid/cloud-edge solutions (e.g., AWS Outposts)
Knowledge of observability stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK
Security certifications or experience with frameworks like CIS, NIST, ISO
Certifications (Preferred)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
AWS Security Specialty

Job Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Platform Engineering
Design and implement scalable AWS architectures using core services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS/Aurora, and DynamoDB
Build and manage AWS Landing Zones using AWS Organizations and Control Tower
Define account structures, organizational units (OUs), and governance models
Networking & Infrastructure
Architect secure network topologies including VPCs, subnets, routing, and connectivity
Implement Transit Gateway, VPN, and Direct Connect solutions
Ensure network segmentation and secure communication across environments
Security & Compliance
Establish IAM strategies including role-based access control and least-privilege policies
Implement encryption, secrets management, and key management best practices
Configure and manage CloudTrail, AWS Config, Security Hub, and GuardDuty
Enforce governance through Service Control Policies (SCPs)
Infrastructure as Code & Automation
Develop reusable infrastructure modules using Terraform and/or CloudFormation
Manage state, versioning, and CI/CD integration for IaC deployments
Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows using Python, Bash, and AWS CLI
CI/CD & DevOps
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline
Enable GitOps practices and automated deployment workflows
Support application lifecycle management and release automation
Containers & Kubernetes
Deploy and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Amazon EKS
Manage container registries (ECR), Helm charts, and Kubernetes manifests
Observability & Reliability
Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing using CloudWatch and X-Ray
Define SLIs/SLOs and maintain system reliability
Create alerting mechanisms and operational runbooks
Cost Optimization & Governance
Implement tagging strategies and cost allocation models
Monitor usage via AWS Cost Explorer and Budgets
Optimize infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency
Collaboration & Leadership
Create architecture documentation and operational runbooks
Mentor team members and provide technical leadership
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud solutions
