At this project, you will have a great opportunity to be involved into the full development life cycle of medical device and software, which is intended to help individuals by processing certain information taken from medical devices to identify health trends and to track daily activities. Additionally, there are opportunities to work with medical devices in the scope of end-to-end testing.

We are seeking a Principal Embedded Engineer (Technical Lead) to drive the technical design, advanced development, and modernization of a health monitoring product based on an ARM Cortex MCU. The system performs continuous physiological data acquisition, on-device preprocessing, BLE communication with a gateway/bridge, and secure transmission to the cloud.

As a Principal Engineer, you will act as the deep technical expert on the team. This role is responsible for tackling the most complex embedded challenges, designing robust firmware architecture, writing mission-critical code, and ensuring reliability in a medically regulated environment. You will set the standard for firmware development practices, mentor senior and mid-level engineers, and collaborate closely with hardware, mobile, cloud, QA, and regulatory teams to deliver a seamless product.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, primarily in the embedded space, with a solid understanding of IoT/cloud integrations.
• Strong, hands-on expertise in bare-metal C on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Deep understanding of real-time constraints, interrupts, timers, DMA, power modes, and MCU peripherals.
• Extensive experience with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) stacks and communication protocols.
• Proven track record building battery-powered, low-power devices for continuous operation.
• Strong understanding of embedded security (secure boot, encryption, firmware integrity, and secure OTA updates).
• High-level problem-solving creativity, with the ability to dive deep into code to resolve complex, low-level technical challenges.
• Technical leadership skills to mentor development teams, drive engineering excellence, and collaborate effectively across organizations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to translate complex embedded constraints to cross-functional teams (mobile, cloud, hardware).

• Architect, design, and actively code the core modules of the embedded firmware for an ARM Cortex-based bare-metal system.
• Optimize and improve critical paths in data acquisition, buffering, signal processing, and BLE communication modules.
• Drive the embedded technical strategy and collaborate closely on system-level partitioning between the BLE stack, mobile/bridge, and cloud components.
• Develop and implement a robust power-management strategy suitable for long-term, continuous wearable operation.
• Ensure the system strictly meets real-time constraints, low latency requirements, and aggressive low-power budgets.
• Lead by example in code quality, establishing rigorous peer review standards, testing methodologies, and CI/CD practices for the firmware team.
