The Role

We are looking for a driven and commercially sharp Associate Vice President of Sales to spearhead new business growth across the DACH market. This is a hunter role — you will own the full new-logo sales cycle, from territory planning and prospecting through to close. You will be backed by a strong delivery organisation and the breadth and depth of the Hitachi group portfolio, which you will need to harness and contextualise for market success.

Your focus verticals will span Smart Manufacturing, Heavy Machinery, Oil & Gas, Energy & Utilities, Aerospace, and other Discrete & Process Manufacturing and Automation verticals. We are looking for experience in Industry 4.0, viz., embedded software engineering, digital twins, process automation and physical AI, as opposed to traditional SAP/ERP experience.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of winning new logos in one or more of: Manufacturing, Heavy Machinery, Oil & Gas, Energy & Utilities, or Discrete/Process Manufacturing, in the DACH market.
  • Experience in selling the propositions mentioned adobe in enterprise environment
  • Strong understanding of how AI (Software and Physical) is changing the landscape of Industrial businesses
  • Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles with deal sizes typically exceeding €5M+ TCV.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable operating autonomously in a matrixed environment, connecting dots across a large group structure to create competitive advantage.

Job responsibilities

  • Own new logo acquisition across Germany: build and execute a territory plan that generates pipeline, accelerates deals, and closes net new business in industrial sub-verticals and named prospect accounts.
  • Harness existing relationships and develop new relationships with senior buyers (C-suite, VP Engineering, Head of Digital) in one of more focus verticals mentioned above
  • Leverage the Hitachi group ecosystem—strategically partner with Hitachi Energy, Hitachi Rail , Hitachi Industrial Equipment, and other group companies to co-originate and shape opportunities to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Craft compelling propositions around digital engineering, embedded software development, product engineering, AI/ML, and physical AI — translating complex technical capabilities into clear business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with European, UK&I and India leadership for solutioning and delivery support to shape and develop propositions, rally the organisation to win the opportunity and drive long-term account growth post-signature.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline accompanied with sales rigour in terms of accurate forecasting and salesforce hygiene and contribute to the broader Industrial business unit strategy across Europe.
