Description
Join a team responsible for the development and evolution of a next-generation UI framework for a leading European home appliance manufacturer. The framework serves as a core software layer powering smart home and embedded devices, providing reusable components and APIs that enable application teams to efficiently build modern user interfaces across multiple product lines.
The project focuses on software architecture, performance optimization, and long-term maintainability. Built with Modern C++ (C++17 and newer), Qt6, and QML, the framework abstracts low-level system functionality, rendering, and state management into a scalable and modular platform for embedded systems.
As part of the team, you will contribute to the design and implementation of high-quality software solutions that support a broad ecosystem of connected consumer products, helping to accelerate feature delivery while ensuring reliability, performance, and an excellent user experience.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise with 5–8 years of progressive experience in C++ development, with a strong focus on Qt and QML frameworks for building robust software applications.
- Advanced proficiency and hands-on experience in C++ programming, including modern C++ standards and object-oriented design principles.
- Strong expertise in the Qt framework, including UI development, event handling, and cross-platform application architecture for complex systems.
- Advanced knowledge and practical experience with QML for developing dynamic and responsive user interfaces, with a focus on performance optimization across target devices.
- English proficiency at a minimum B2 level, both written and spoken, with the ability to communicate effectively within international and cross-functional teams.
Job responsibilities
- Design and implement robust software solutions using C++, Qt, and QML for embedded systems in the home appliance and home automation domain.
- Develop and maintain user interfaces and application logic, with a strong focus on performance, responsiveness, and user experience.
- Contribute to the architectural design of new features and system enhancements, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and long-term sustainability.
- Lead the technical implementation of complex software modules while ensuring compliance with established coding standards and best practices.
- Optimize existing C++ and Qt/QML codebases to improve efficiency, resource utilization, and maintainability.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software.
- Mentor junior developers on C++, Qt, and QML best practices, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the software stack, from user interface components to backend logic.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define, refine, and implement technical requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration of software components within the overall system architecture, verifying compatibility and optimal performance.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve development processes and product quality.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation details, and testing procedures, to support knowledge sharing and future development.
