Job Summary: 

The Contact Development Representative (CDR) is responsible for validating and updating demographics on marketing lead records that come in and properly assigning client leads based on defined segmentation and product assignment rules.

While the CDR does not engage directly with prospects, they will gather additional contact, account, buying group, and other heuristic information for marketing or revenue development teams to pursue. The CDR conducts contact discovery and adds new names and contact information to a database.

This role also handles account intelligence by enriching current account and contact records and mapping out buying groups for selected accounts. CDRs typically rely on a spectrum of tactics that include using contact databases, social media, and web searches to discover contact, account, and buying group information. CDRs will engage with both the Marketing and the Sales Development Teams in order to drive results.

Job responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all inbound leads are properly assigned to the appropriate lead owner and future sales rep based on defined territory/ segment assignments.
  • Confirm corporate hierarchy and assign based on ultimate parent and verify if they are a “new customer”, “expansion” or “add-on”, based on search in Imprivata SFDC database.
  • Discover and validate contact information to confirm an individual’s role within a buying group and develop account and opportunity maps for revenue development teams to pursue.
  • Support contact discovery and validation by searching databases, and conducting online research.
  • Identify and validate the individual target buyer personas that are involved in a buying decision.
  • Map possible buying groups for delivery to other revenue development groups.
  • Comply with all demand management-related service-level agreements.
  • Provide marketing with weekly forecasts of the volume of validated contacts and mapped buying groups for accounts.Track and manage discovery activities in the organization’s sales force automation (SFA) system.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Business desired.
  • Ability to research contacts and accounts using approved sales tools. (ZoomInfo, Hoovers, Salesforce.com, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Proactive and open to exploring new ways of gathering insights.
  • Ability to perform prospect and account research.
  • Ability to use existing and emerging social media tools to monitor targeted accounts and buying groups.
  • Experience in an industry with a significant customer/prospect interaction.
  • Project management experience desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
