Requirements
System Modernization: Design, develop, and deploy scalable Java-based backend applications to support our enterprise legacy-to-cloud modernization initiative.
Azure Cloud Development: Build exclusively within the Azure ecosystem, utilizing services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL/Cosmos DB, APIM, Azure Data explorer, Azure Application Insights..
Data Pipeline Engineering (ADF): Architect, build, and maintain complex data integration workflows and ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to move and transform data between legacy systems and the new Azure infrastructure.
Microservices Architecture: Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
Cloud Infrastructure Orchestration: Work closely with Cloud/DevOps engineers to ensure backend applications are properly containerized, deployed, and monitored within the Azure environment.
Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams, including enterprise architects, data engineers, and product managers, to align technical solutions with broad business modernization goals.
Code Quality & Testing: Write clean, testable, and efficient code. Implement unit, integration, and performance testing to ensure system reliability.
Required Qualifications
Backend Development: 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development, specifically building microservices and REST APIs using the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud).
Azure Infrastructure: Extensive experience working in a 100% Azure-hosted environment. Familiarity with Azure compute, storage, networking, and security services.
Azure Data Factory (ADF) Expertise: Proven, strong experience designing and implementing data pipelines, linked services, datasets, and integration runtimes using ADF.
Database Technologies: Proficiency with relational databases (e.g. SQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cosmos DB).
DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) and setting up CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues between Java applications and Azure data services.
