Description

We are developing a modern Angular-based web application integrated with Unity for visualizing 3D medical models. The system enables clinicians to create and manage medical cases for patients, and leverages machine learning pipelines to analyze medical records. Our infrastructure is built on AWS with secure identity management via OKTA. Key AWS services include EKS, EFS, S3, and Lambda. We may incorporate Step Functions and Airflow for orchestration.

Medical records are processed and analyzed through machine learning (ML) pipelines. The platform is hosted on AWS and uses services such as EKS, EFS, S3, Lambda, and integrates with OKTA for identity and access management. Step Functions and Airflow may be incorporated for orchestration.

Requirements

• Core Language Skills: 4+ years of professional backend experience, with strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• AWS AppSync Expertise: Proven experience configuring and maintaining AWS AppSync APIs (including VTL or JavaScript resolvers and Real-time subscriptions).
• Serverless Architecture: Strong hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
• Database Skills: Strong experience with MongoDB, including schema design, performance tuning, and aggregation frameworks.
• Python Knowledge: Experience with Python is a strong plus (to understand ML service logic).
• Security Awareness: Familiarity with securing cloud APIs (using OIDC, Cognito, or OKTA) and handling sensitive medical data (PII/PHI).
• Development Practices: Experience with unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and version control.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Angular knowledge will be a big plus.
• python knowledge will be a big plus.

Job responsibilities

• AppSync & API Development: Architect and implement secure, scalable APIs using AWS AppSync and API Gateway. Configure data sources, resolvers, and subscriptions within the AppSync environment.
• Serverless Backend Logic: Write clean, efficient TypeScript/Node.js code for AWS Lambda functions that serve as business logic layers for AppSync and API Gateway.
• Database Management: Model and manage complex data structures using MongoDB. Handle indexing, aggregation pipelines, and ensure high performance for data retrieval.
• ML Pipeline Integration: Serve as the bridge between backend and data science; write Node.js logic to trigger, monitor, and retrieve results from Python-based ML pipelines.
• Security & Compliance: Implement fine-grained access control using AppSync security settings (integrating with IAM/OKTA) and ensure all data processing complies with healthcare standards (HIPAA).
• System Optimization: Optimize Lambda execution times and AppSync response latency to ensure a responsive application.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend developers to define AppSync schemas and with DevOps to ensure smooth CI/CD deployments.
