Description

We are looking for experienced JDE / IBM i Developer to support, enhance, and modernize a complex enterprise supply chain environment.

The platform includes JD Edwards running on IBM i / AS/400, an on-premise warehouse management system, and middleware-based integrations connecting ERP and warehouse operations.

You will work across the full transaction lifecycle:

JDE / ERP → Middleware → WMS → Warehouse & Logistics Execution

Requirements

5+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture and/or supply chain technology.

  • ʼStrong experience with JD Edwards (JDE) and IBM i / AS/400 environments.
  • Good understanding of:
    ʼDB2 for i Batch processing
  • Job scheduling
  • File-based interfaces
  • Legacy integration patterns
  • Experience designing and supporting ERP-to-WMS integrations.
  • Strong experience with warehouse management systems, preferably WMi, or another enterprise on-premise WMS.
  • Experience with middleware or enterprise integration frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, warehousing, fulfillment, and supply chain execution.
  • Experience with batch, real-time, API, messaging, database, and file-based integrations.
  • Experience analyzing legacy landscapes and defining practical modernization roadmaps.
  • Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • WMi experience.
  • MIF middleware experience.
  • Retail, distribution, CPG, or logistics domain experience.
  • Experience with high-volume, business-critical warehouse environments.
  • Warehouse automation or RF-enabled operations.
  • Experience modernizing IBM i / AS/400 applications.
  • Experience exposing legacy functionality through APIs or modern integration layers.
  • CI/CD, monitoring, observability, or automation experience.

Job responsibilities

 

  • Own the end-to-end solution architecture across JDE, IBM i / AS/400, WMi, middleware, and related supply chain applications.
  • Analyze the current application, integration, data, and infrastructure landscape and define scalable and supportable solution designs.
  • Design and improve integrations between ERP and warehouse management systems.
  • Understand and document end-to-end transaction and data flows across order management, inventory, warehousing, receiving, picking, packing, shipping, distribution, and transportation.
  • Provide architectural guidance for IBM i / AS/400 environments, including legacy modernization and integration strategies.
  • Define interface patterns, data flows, batch-processing strategies, monitoring, reconciliation, error handling, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for complex issues spanning ERP, middleware, WMS, databases, batch jobs, and downstream systems.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, performance improvement, and modernization.
  • Work closely with business, supply chain, ERP, WMS, infrastructure, integration, and operations stakeholders.
  • Ensure solutions are resilient, scalable, secure, and operationally supportable.
