Description
GlobalLogic Automotive is looking for a hands-on Vehicle Test Engineer to join our team in Gothenburg. In this role, you will be directly responsible for executing manual functional tests on real development vehicles, evaluating new software releases, and verifying feature performance.
If you are a confident driver with strong automotive skills who thrives behind the wheel and in the workshop rather than behind a desk writing code, this is the role for you.
Requirements
- Valid Swedish Driver’s License (Category B) with a strong, confident driving record.
- Automotive Background: Hands-on experience working with vehicles, automotive systems, ECU flashing, or vehicle-level diagnostic tools.
- Troubleshooting Skills
- Language: Professional working proficiency in English (Swedish is a plus).
Job responsibilities
In-Vehicle & Track Testing:
- Conduct end-to-end manual functional, exploratory, and regression testing on physical test vehicles and proving grounds.
- Validate new software releases and feature updates under real-world and controlled track driving conditions.
- Evaluate feature performance, user experience, and vehicle responses against functional specs.
Vehicle Preparation & Diagnostics:
- Prepare test objects (vehicles and rigs) by flashing, updating, and verifying HW/SW baselines before test runs.
- Perform basic hardware upgrades, technical maintenance, and sensor/cable checks in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Collect diagnostic data and system logs using standard automotive diagnostic tools.
- Identify, document, and report bugs clearly, helping development teams distinguish between actual vehicle/feature defects and environment issues.
