Description:

Our innovative and growing company is looking for an experienced candidate for the position of Technical Project Lead. The project involves being part of a distributed global and highly technical development team to design electronic state-of-the-art Automotive Products. You will have the chance to be part of a technical team to help achieve release objectives and results that meet or exceed business partners and customers expectations. Please review the list of responsibilities and qualifications below. While this is our ideal list, we will consider candidates that do not necessarily have all of the qualifications, but have sufficient and solid experience and talent.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in technical leadership role/technical program management.
  • 4-6 years of experience regarding Responsibility / Main Activities (listed above) in serial development or comparable experience in automotive (mandatory); HMI products/electronics (preferable) industry.
  • Excellent customer interface and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical systems in simple terms.
  • Controlled under significant pressure. Ability to lead a cross-functional engineering team, challenge team members where necessary, and motivate the team to provide excellent results.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and ability to clearly communicate in English (both verbal and written) Japanese a plus
  • Experience with requirement management tools Preferred  Experience with ASPICE and Functional Safety
  • Prover Track record of successful launches of automotive products with a comprehensive knowledge of product development practices in a Tier 1 automotive company.

Education

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science Engineering; Masters preferred

Responsibilities:

Planning and Coordination:

  • Lead the planning of engineering development activities and deliverables from program inception to launch.
    Track day-to-day progress of the engineering development team, comprising electrical, mechanical, software, verification, and validation engineers.
  • Prioritize engineering resources to ensure efficient progress.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams

Issue Tracking and Resolution:

  • Monitor project open issues, collect regular updates, and drive them to resolution.

Customer Engagement and Technical Interface:

  • Act as the primary technical contact for the customer, attending PDT meetings and managing customer requirements, change requests, and expectations.
  • Support customer presentations and serve as the primary technical interface for product-related discussions.
  • Coordinate engineering quoting activities and review proposals for accuracy.

Manufacturing Interface:

  • Provide the overall product engineering interface to manufacturing and prototypes.
  • Support the build of engineering development samples.

Change Management:

  • Manage changes by consolidating engineering estimates, evaluating cost and timing impacts, and negotiating technical requirements with customers.
  • Ensure smooth transitions into manufacturing and testing of the product.

Engineering Work Product Review:

  • Review and approve engineering work products, ensuring they are accurately prepared, stored, and revised as necessary.

Readiness Evaluation:

  • Evaluate and determine the readiness for Design Verification (DV) and Production Verification (PV) testing.
