Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in API testing and hands-on experience with the Karate Labs AI Test Framework. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving the adoption of AI-assisted test automation, leveraging Karate MCP (Model Context Protocol) and agent-enabled interfaces to accelerate the creation, maintenance, and scalability of end-to-end API test suites.
This role requires a strong technical background in API automation, CI/CD integration, and cross-functional collaboration with development teams to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions across a large service ecosystem.
Requirements
API Test Automation
– Proven experience designing, developing, and executing large-scale automated end-to-end (E2E) API tests.
– Strong understanding of API testing methodologies, validation strategies, and automation best practices.
– Experience working with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
Karate Labs Expertise
– Hands-on experience with the Karate Labs AI Test Framework.
– Experience leveraging Karate MCP (Model Context Protocol) or other AI-powered, agent-enabled testing capabilities to accelerate test generation and maintenance.
– Ability to establish scalable automation frameworks and reusable testing components.
CI/CD & Deployment Ecosystem
– Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
– Familiarity with deployment and release management tools such as OdysseyCD and Kargo.
– Exposure to modern platform engineering practices and centralized agentic solutions such as Kosmos is a plus.
Collaboration & Communication
– Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
– Ability to work directly with development teams and service owners to identify quality gaps, troubleshoot issues, and drive testing improvements.
– Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across distributed teams.
Language & Availability
– Professional-level English communication skills (written and verbal).
– Availability to maintain significant overlap with the U.S. Central Time (CT) zone.
Job responsibilities
Lead the adoption, evaluation, and implementation of Karate MCP and AI-driven testing capabilities to efficiently generate baseline E2E API test suites.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated API testing solutions across a large service ecosystem.
Define, document, and enforce project-wide testing standards, including:
Test structure and organization
Naming conventions
Assertion standards
Reusability guidelines
Create and maintain shared templates, common onboarding packages, and reusable testing assets to ensure consistency across more than 150 services.
Integrate automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous quality assurance.
Collaborate closely with development teams and service owners to address testing gaps, improve coverage, and ensure reliable service delivery.
Promote best practices in API automation, test architecture, and AI-assisted quality engineering.
Support the continuous evolution of the testing platform and contribute to future alignment with centralized agentic solutions such as Kosmos.
