We are partnering with a titan of Japanese industry to revolutionise how medical and industrial equipment is managed in hospitals and facilities worldwide. You will be a founding member of a team building a sophisticated GenAI platform designed to provide instant, intelligent access to complex product knowledge—from assembly and configuration to intricate repair procedures. This project is in its infancy, offering you the unique „greenfield“ opportunity. 

Requirements

Must Have
Strong experience as a Senior Back-end Engineer delivering production-grade backend systems.
Expert knowledge of .NET / C# for building scalable backend services and APIs.
Solid experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and backend business logic.
Experience working with Microsoft Azure, including:
– Azure App Service / Web Apps
– Azure Functions
– Azure Storage / Data Lake (application integration)
– Azure AI Search (from a backend integration perspective)
Strong understanding of authentication and authorization using Microsoft Entra ID.
Experience integrating backend services with event-driven and asynchronous workflows.
Good understanding of application data modeling and backend persistence patterns.
Ability to work independently on complex backend features while collaborating closely with other engineers.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Nice to Have
Experience with Node.js for auxiliary services or tooling.
Experience with Cosmos DB or Azure SQL.
Familiarity with AI-enabled backends (semantic search, RAG, AI APIs).
Experience working with cloud-native architectures.
Exposure to industrial, healthcare, or regulated environments.
Experience contributing to systems evolving from MVP to enterprise scale.

Job responsibilities

As a Senior Back-end Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining backend services that power a data- and AI-driven platform. You will focus on building reliable, secure, and scalable APIs and services that integrate with cloud data pipelines and AI services.
Your responsibilities include:
Designing and implementing backend services and APIs using .NET.
Developing and maintaining integrations with Azure Functions, AI Search, and storage services.
Implementing secure access control using Microsoft Entra ID.
Designing and maintaining backend data models for application and operational data.
Supporting event-driven processing workflows and asynchronous service communication.
Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code following best practices.
Participating in code reviews and contributing to technical discussions.
Collaborating with frontend engineers, DevOps, and data engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
