Requirements

Tech Stack & Requirements:
Expected Experience: 7+ years of professional development, with at least 5 years focused on Delphi (10.x/11/12 versions).

Core Languages: Delphi (Object Pascal), SQL.

Architecture: VCL (Visual Component Library), Multi-threading, DLL development, and COM/DCOM.

Database: Deep knowledge of MS SQL Server (T-SQL) and local database engines.

Advantageous: Familiarity with C#/.NET (for integration purposes) and DevExpress components for Delphi.

Job responsibilities

For a Senior Delphi Engineer role , the focus shifts toward the high-performance desktop applications that power their core LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) engines. These applications (like the GaBi software) often contain the „Secret Sauce“—the complex mathematical models used for environmental calculations.

In this role, the engineer is both a guardian of logic and a modernization specialist, ensuring the desktop suite remains robust while preparing for its cloud-first future.

Senior Delphi Engineer (Sustainability Systems)
Role Overview:
The Senior Delphi Engineer will lead the development and optimization of Sphera’s industry-leading desktop LCA tools. You will work on high-performance calculation engines that process millions of environmental data points. This is a „deep-tech“ role requiring a balance of legacy system mastery and modern architectural thinking.

Key Responsibilities:
Engine Optimization: Maintain and optimize complex Object Pascal codebases responsible for matrix-based LCA calculations and data visualization.

Modernization & Integration: Design and implement COM/ActiveX or REST wrappers to allow modern web services (.NET/React) to communicate with the core Delphi engine.

Memory & Performance Management: Debug and resolve deep-level memory leaks and performance bottlenecks in high-load data processing scenarios.

Feature Evolution: Develop new features for the desktop suite, including advanced reporting tools and database migration utilities (SQL Server/InterBase/Firebird).

Cross-Platform Vision: Assist in the architectural strategy for migrating core business logic from Delphi to .NET 8 microservices.
