Description

The department drives enterprise-wide adoption of Generative AI and AI-assisted engineering practices across software development and digital engineering domains. The team focuses on building scalable AI platforms, developer productivity solutions, and agentic workflows that enhance software delivery, engineering efficiency, and knowledge accessibility.

The organisation works with modern AI technologies, including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Azure OpenAI, and MCP-based integrations, connecting engineering tools such as Jira, Jama, and GitHub. The department combines platform engineering, AI architecture, governance, and developer enablement to operationalise secure and scalable AI solutions across global engineering teams.

Key focus areas include coding agents, multi-agent systems, prompt engineering, AI governance, workflow automation, and cloud-based AI platform deployment.

Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in automotive embedded software development spanning the full V-cycle.

Toolchain Expertise:

• Practical Gen AI integration experience: using Azure OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent tools in a real delivery context
• Understanding of agentic concepts: tool calling, prompt construction, context management, structured output handling
  Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control workflows (GitHub)
• Ability to work independently within a client team with minimal hand-holding
• Advanced proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow.
• Experience with auto-code generation tools (TargetLink, Embedded Coder).
• Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ programming and MISRA C/C++ standards.
• Hands-on experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape) and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, J1939, Automotive Ethernet).

Standards & Processes:

• Strong understanding of functional safety standards (ISO 26262).
• Familiarity with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) development processes.

Preferred Qualifications (The „Nice-to-Haves“):

• Experience with AUTOSAR architecture (Classic or Adaptive) and configuration tools (e.g., Vector DaVinci, Electrobit).
• Prior experience working on commercial vehicles, heavy-duty trucks, or e-Mobility (electric powertrain/battery management systems).
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins, Git, Gerrit).
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum cross-functional teams.

Job responsibilities

• Develop and integrate Gen AI tooling within the client’s existing development environment and V-cycle workflows
• Build and maintain coding agent pipelines using GitHub Copilot and Claude Cod
• Implement and extend MCP server integrations connecting AI agents to Jira, Jama, GitHub, and other internal systems
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines that incorporate AI-assisted code generation and validation steps
• Work alongside client engineers as a peer contributor — not as an external consultant
• Support verification and validation activities where AI-generated outputs require human review and structured testing
