Description
Our client is an EU company playing a leading role in the global market of communication, security, and digital services solutions. They are developing a next-generation, Azure-based IoT and media platform designed to enable distributed communication and media services for users via voice/video calls, texting, voice messages, and digital asset transfers. This platform is a core component of a larger ecosystem that includes security control systems and multimedia access solutions for a diverse range of end-user equipment, including kiosks, native mobile devices, and Android TV.
As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the platform’s modernization. The current focus is driving the critical transition from a legacy monolithic architecture into a highly resilient, hybrid cloud microservices infrastructure on MS Azure. Because the project is driven by highly specialized, cross-border engineering teams, a core part of your mission will involve collaborating closely with both the Hamburg and Budapest offices. You will align their technical roadmaps, balance regional product requirements, and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture across locations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Cloud solutions architecture and development (Cloud / On-Prem / Hybrid solutions), with a strong focus on MS Azure.
- Proven track record of successfully guiding engineering teams through the architectural journey of migrating from monolithic systems to microservices-based architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Kafka.
- Hands-on experience with VoIP and Video on Demand (VoD) solutions.
- Secure software design and modeling skills, with a thorough understanding of security principles and techniques.
- Exceptional soft skills and emotional intelligence; proven ability to navigate internal corporate dynamics, manage stakeholder tensions, and build consensus between distributed international offices.
- Advanced English level (written and spoken).
- Analytical, problem-solving, and strong negotiation/convincing skills.
- Open mind, proactivity, and independence at work.
- Location: Based onsite in Hamburg, Germany (highly preferred) or located within the CEE region with a willingness to travel as needed.

Job responsibilities
- Lead the strategic evolution of the platform from a monolithic architecture to a modern, scalable, microservices-based framework.
- Act as a diplomatic technical bridge between the customer’s R&D sites, proactively navigating cultural and organizational dynamics to align engineering and product strategies.
- Research the latest tools and technologies with the goal of developing a completely new paradigm for a next-generation, Azure-based IoT and communication ecosystem.
- Tightly collaborate with engineering and product teams to clarify, propose, brainstorm, and agree on the solution architecture targeting client and market needs.
- Identify Client needs, drive technical decision-making, and proactively propose ideas and drive PoCs.
- Take responsibility for the design and documentation of the architectural concept and design implementation, providing project tracking and status reports to senior leadership.
- Develop and refine the architecture concept for the IoT and media platform across Azure Cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
- Gain deep domain and solution knowledge to support product lifecycle development.
- Follow and champion best software development practices to ensure high quality, system security, and a great user experience.
