We are seeking a Performance / Infrastructure Benchmarking Engineer to join our Hardware Optimization Team. In this role, you will lead the benchmarking and performance validation of our compute and network fabrics. You will be responsible for automating test execution using Ansible, generating and archiving performance metrics in object storage with Parquet, and analyzing large-scale benchmark results with Pandas to ensure our compute fleet operates at peak efficiency.

Preferred qualifications & skills
- Education & experience: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus heavy experience in Linux systems engineering, performance engineering, or test automation infrastructure.
- Systems & Benchmarking: Solid Linux systems knowledge paired with hands-on experience evaluating compute, memory, and network subsystems using industry-standard benchmarking suites (e.g., iperf, sysbench, fio).
- Automation & Scripting: Strong proficiency in Python for building automated test harnesses, paired with system configuration management using Ansible.
- Data Analysis & Object Storage: Hands-on experience working with object storage systems (e.g., S3-compatible APIs), columnar storage formats (Parquet), and datamanipulation/analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) to process and analyze large benchmark datasets.

- Configure, automate, and provision reproducible testbed environments across compute and networking infrastructure using an IaC approach (Ansible).
- Design, execute, and automate multi-node performance benchmarks measuring network throughput, latency, CPU, and I/O limits using tools such as iperf and sysbench.
- Build automated data ingestion pipelines that write and structure benchmark telemetry into object storage (S3) utilizing Parquet files for compact, query-optimized storage.
- Perform automated regression and statistical performance analysis on test results using Python and Pandas to detect hardware- or kernel-level regressions.
- Partner with software and infrastructure engineering teams to identify performance bottlenecks and validate system stability prior to production rollouts.
