About the Role
We are seeking an Engineer II Report Writer to join our Care Connect (CC) Reporting team. This role will initially require limited hours to support and maintain our existing historical reporting for console products (MediCall, Smart Suite, and Spok Console), which currently utilizes about 50 General Availability (GA) SSRS reports. Over the next six months, the focus and capacity requirements will shift heavily toward implementing 10–20 new reports for our Messenger product. While the current environment relies on SSRS, this role will eventually help drive our future transition toward Power BI.

Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Level: 2 to 4 years of relevant experience (Engineer II).
Education: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field of study.
Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with SSRS and a foundational understanding of Power BI.
Data Acumen: Knowledge of data modeling, basic ETL concepts, and data validation. (Note: The Database Developer handles the warehouse and data mapping; this role focuses on front-end visualization and datasets).
Soft Skills: A strong passion for problem-solving, data exploration, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities
Report Development: Design, build, test, and maintain SSRS Reports utilizing the Care Connect Reporting data warehouse.
New Implementations: Partner with the pod to design and deploy 10 to 20 new reports for the Messenger product launch.
Future-Proofing: Prepare for and assist in the future migration of reporting visualizations to Power BI, utilizing data visualization tools to rapidly generate impactful, interactive dashboards.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Meet with stakeholders to understand business requirements, create functional/technical designs, and document reporting artifacts.
Support & Maintenance: Provide frontline technical support to troubleshoot and resolve report and dashboard-related issues. Monitor the production environment and conduct performance testing.
Process Management: Manage the development lifecycle of reports, utilizing Rally (and transitioning to Jira) for ticket management, and participate in weekly triage and quarterly roadmap planning.
