Description
This role offers a unique opportunity to support England Teams in their pursuit of success at major tournaments by developing and maintaining the back-end of our high-performance applications. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimising robust and scalable back-end systems that handle large volumes of data efficiently, enabling seamless integration and transformation from various sources. A large part of this role will initially be focused on retiring legacy code bases in favour of newer technologies.
Requirements
• 5+ years of full stack development experience
• Experience with Node.JS, React, TypeScript
• Experience with Python
• Experience with Database architecture
(PostgreSQL, BigQuery)
• Proficiency with Cloud Platforms (preferably GCP)
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent problem solving
Job responsibilities
• Work alongside Senior Developers and the Solution Architect to design and manage the back-end architecture,
ensuring efficient handling of data flows and maintaining system integrity across various applications.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance APIs and back-end services to support applications and
staff needs.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, Developers, and Analysts to build reliable production
processes.
• Implement and maintain robust quality assurance practices, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of system
processes and data outputs.
• Develop excellent engineering solutions within a modern cloud technology stack, focusing on performance and
scalability.
• Integrate back-end services with observability platforms to highlight issues and ensure system health.
• Maintain clear and organised technical documentation of system processes, procedures, and workflows, ensuring
accessibility for relevant team members.
• Adhere to governance, security and privacy policies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with
industry standards.
• Drive innovation by introducing new back-end technologies, processes, and best practices to enhance the team’s
capabilities.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in back-end development, proactively seeking
opportunities to enhance processes and tools.
• Execute additional tasks as required to adapt to evolving organisational priorities.
