Description

Client produces the best-selling iPad and iPhone app for pilots flying personal and business aircraft, corporate flight departments, and aircraft operators. Customers include individual pilots worldwide, Fortune 500 corporate flight departments, state and federal agencies, leading operators, the military, and leading aircraft OEMs. We have been in the App Store since its grand opening in July, 2008 and are consistently ranked in the top 50 grossing iPad apps in the App Store.

Requirements

  • 6–8 years of professional iOS development with experience of shipping high-quality apps.
  • Expert level in Swift & Xcode
  • Professional level understanding of Core Data and managing data persistence in complex applications.
  • Hands-on experience with maintaining legacy code Objective-C or bridging native code with other languages (Rust, C#).
  • Hands-on experience with C/C++ (performance-critical components, legacy code, or system-level logic)
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools.
  • Educational background within the software field, e.g. software engineering, data, computer science
  • A drive to make things happen and being the co-owner of the solution, you develop
  • Communicative English for technical collaboration with US-based developers.
  • Ability to learn new tools and methodologies quickly as our tech stack evolves.
  • You always try to understand the problems’ you solve and overall “why” context
  • If you ever were passionate about aviation – you got some bonus points straightaway!

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to geospatial, mapping, or navigation-based applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
  • Familiarity with Windows or Android development.
  • Interest or experience in graphical rendering or data-driven UI.
  • A passion for aviation or experience with mission-critical software.

Job responsibilities

  • Software development of the EFB app
  • Design, develop, and maintain iOS and macOS applications using Swift
  • Work extensively with Xcode for development, debugging, profiling, and build management.
  • Contribute to performance-critical and data-intensive components of the application.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best engineering practices.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions, providing technical input and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to support testing, bug fixing, and release validation.
  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across the application lifecycle.
  • Review code, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to team coding standards.
  • Support continuous improvement of code quality, tooling, and development processes.
  • Proactively working with test engineers to ensure safety in the air
  • Full stack mode work if needed
