Our client is a leading healthcare device manufacturer in the USA and Europe. The program spans a connected system integrating an embedded wearable device, mobile applications, and web services. We operate under robust design controls with strong emphasis on safety, security, and reliability. Requirements

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Systems, FW, Mobile, Cloud, QA, Regulatory)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; able to isolate issues across device, mobile app, and cloud integrations
  • 3+ years in systems/product engineering with hands-on verification in embedded or connected devices
  • Minimum 1 year in system-level integration and verification
  • At least 1 year of failure analysis and root cause investigations using device/app/cloud logs and telemetry
  • Working knowledge of design controls and DHF artifacts; able to reference and contribute to the design history file
  • Experience with tools such as Citrix, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, Salesforce; data analysis with Spotfire
  • Understanding of cloud services and API interactions
  • Understanding of microcontroller peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.)
  • Experience in healthcare or other regulated domains (aviation, pharma, etc.); familiarity with risk management (ISO 14971) and software lifecycle (IEC 62304)
  • Nice to have:
  • Experience with insulin pumps or other medical devicesExperience in med-tech with Class B/C devices
  • Exposure to FMEA, fault tree analysis, and post-market surveillance processes

Job responsibilities

  • Triage field issues end-to-end: reproduce, collect evidence, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions
  • Support and, when appropriate, own bug reporting for field escalations and maintain traceability through the issue management pipeline
  • Support and/or own root cause investigations and contribute updates to DHF, risk files, and ECR/ECOs
  • Participate in risk analysis activities (FMEA, hazard analysis) and propose mitigations
  • Act as a technical liaison between post-market/Customer Care and internal engineering teams; join customer status calls to explain findings and next steps
  • Prepare concise reports and present status, risks, and decisions to leadership and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers on design troubleshooting and improvements; challenge designs with data
  • Plan and execute targeted lab experiments and feasibility evaluations; verify implemented fixes at the system level
  • Contribute to design verification strategy for releases aimed at FDA/CE submissions and commercial updates
