Description

We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Group Design Leader (GDL) to manage and coordinate hardware design activities within the automotive domain. The role involves ownership of hardware part lifecycle management, engineering change processes, and close collaboration with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product development and release

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
  • 6–10 years of experience in automotive hardware design, product development, or engineering coordination roles.
  • Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle management and engineering change processes (ECO/ECN).
  • Experience working with PLM tools and part management systems.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and product industrialization.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage hardware part number creation, validation, and release in alignment with engineering and organizational standards.
  • Perform detailed checks and ensure accuracy of hardware part data, documentation, and configurations.
  • Own and drive engineering change order (ECO) processes, ensuring timely evaluation, approval, and implementation of changes.
  • Coordinate closely with manufacturing teams to align on hardware changes, assess production impact, and ensure smooth implementation.
  • Lead and manage Key Decision Point (KDP) activities, ensuring readiness, documentation, and stakeholder alignment for milestone approvals.
  • Ensure traceability and configuration control of hardware components across the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with design, procurement, quality, and supplier teams to ensure hardware deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Identify and manage risks related to hardware changes, supply chain, and production readiness.
  • Support project planning, tracking, and reporting of hardware-related activities and milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational processes, standards, and automotive quality requirements.
