prplMesh is an open-source, carrier-grade, certifiable implementation of the WiFi Alliance’s Multi-AP specification. This solution enables source code to cover both the agent and the controller portions of the Multi-AP specification. It is scoped as a reference implementation, leaving ample room for differentiation. The project aims to create a baseline for OEMs and developers to easily integrate Multi-AP into various products and platforms. Initial targets include prplWrt and RDK-B. It enables users to utilize WiFi chipsets from nearly any SoC vendor in residential gateways and WiFi extenders (including from retail brands and internet service providers). This project is part of a wider collaboration between Prpl Foundation and Broadband Forum.
