Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Back-End Developer to join our cloud-native digital platform team. This individual will be responsible for developing scalable, secure, and event-driven microservices that operate reliably in a distributed Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environment. The ideal candidate has experience with Dapr, Linkerd, RabbitMQ/Kafka, and mTLS-based communication, and is capable of building backend services that abstract complex identity, messaging, and system orchestration concerns.

Requirements

✅ Must-Have

• 3–5+ years of experience in back-end service development in cloud-native environments.
• Strong experience with Azure services, Kubernetes (AKS), and service mesh (Linkerd).
• Deep understanding of event-driven architecture, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and message schema evolution.
• Familiarity with Dapr for building distributed applications.
• Proficient in secure service development using mTLS, OAuth2, role-based access control (RBAC).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and containerization.

✅ Nice-to-Have

• Experience with IdP abstraction libraries or custom authentication middleware.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7) or regulated environments.
• Experience with gRPC, GraphQL, or event sourcing frameworks.
• Knowledge of Azure Event Grid, Cosmos DB, or SQL elastic pools.

Job responsibilities

🧱 Microservices Development

• Design and develop containerized backend microservices using C#, Node.js, or Python running on AKS.
• Implement asynchronous workflows using RabbitMQ and Kafka, following event-driven and CQRS patterns.
• Use Dapr sidecars for pub/sub, bindings, and service-to-service invocation in a polyglot architecture.
• Build and maintain APIs (REST, gRPC) and message consumers/producers with clear contracts and observability.

🔐 Security & Identity Abstraction

• Integrate platform services with enterprise IdPs through abstraction layers and libraries (e.g., OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT).
• Implement mTLS communication and certificate-based authentication, working closely with the internal Registration Authority (RA).
• Ensure backend services comply with zero-trust security and GDPR/HIPAA/ISO 13485 regulations.

 

☁️ Cloud-Native Architecture & Ops

• Deploy services to Azure AKS, using Helm, Terraform, or Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Instrument code for observability using OpenTelemetry, Dapr metrics, and Azure Monitor.
• Work with Linkerd service mesh to enforce service identity, traffic policies, and fault injection.

🔄 Platform Integration

• Integrate with internal and external systems, including FHIR APIs, custom apps, SAP, Dynamics, and Salesforce.
• Abstract messaging and event brokers to allow switchable messaging patterns depending on customer context.
• Ensure high availability, backpressure handling, and graceful degradation in critical services.

🤝 Team Collaboration

• Work within cross-functional Agile squads including DevOps, QA, Product, and Front-End teams.
• Participate in design reviews, architecture sessions, and DevSecOps ceremonies.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor junior backend engineers in best practices.
