About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Analyst/Data Engineer to join our client’s Connectivity Services team. This role is critical in enhancing software engineering internal data analytics standards, reporting, alerting, and incident understanding and triaging across our client’s entire semi-truck OEM connectivity portfolio. You will work with large-scale IoT datasets, leveraging Azure Data Explorer (ADX), Power BI, and other Azure services to drive actionable insights and operational excellence. You will help us to set up the right tools and environments to improve our analysis capabilities.

Requirements

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or Data Engineer role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Explorer (ADX/Kusto) and Azure Data Factory.
• Proficiency in Power BI for building interactive dashboards and reports.
• Experience working with large-scale IoT datasets and solving big data challenges.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Strong SQL and Kusto Query Language (KQL) skills.
• Business-savvy mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic insights.
• Self-driven and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in the automotive or transportation industry, especially with connected vehicle data.
• Familiarity with Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake or Stream Analytics.
• Knowledge of incident management frameworks and operational analytics.
• Understanding of automotive systems and/or cellular and data network technologies is a strong plus.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Job responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Azure Data Explorer (ADX) and other Azure services.
• Analyze and interpret IoT and big data from connected semi-truck systems to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement or pinpoint incidents.
• Build and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports to support real-time and historical monitoring, alerting, and decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data standards, KPIs, and incident analysis frameworks.
• Develop and maintain automated alerting systems to proactively detect and respond to connectivity issues.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across all analytics and reporting platforms.
• Support root cause analysis and incident investigations through deep data exploration and visualization.
• Productionize your data analysis, document and handover to support teams to use as tool for troubleshooting.
