About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Solutions/Applications/System Architect with deep expertise in the telecommunications domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining, designing, and leading the implementation of scalable and robust backend services and APIs aligned with business and technology goals. You will work across product management, engineering, and operations teams to drive transformation initiatives.The role requires strong expertise in solution and system architecture, microservices, SOA, and Java/J2EE,Springboot with solid experience in REST/SOAP APIs. Cloud-native skills (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and telecom system performance optimization are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and implement microservices-based and SOA solutions using the Java/J2EE technology stack, ensuring modularity, reusability, and ease of integration.
Define and govern API management strategies using REST and SOAP, enabling seamless integration between billing platforms, CRM, mediation, provisioning, payment gateways, and external systems.
Drive system integration efforts involving complex data modeling and enterprise messaging frameworks to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely data flow across the telecom ecosystem.
Champion cloud-native architecture and deployment best practices across AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms, incorporating containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for scalable and resilient system delivery.
Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to establish and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, facilitating automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of billing and charging solutions.
Lead performance tuning, stress testing, and optimization activities for large-scale telecom billing systems, ensuring SLAs for billing cycle time, charging latency, and system throughput are consistently met.
Engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders, producing clear, comprehensive architectural documentation, solution blueprints, and communication artifacts to facilitate alignment and informed decision-making.
Provide technical leadership during vendor evaluations, POCs, and platform upgrades, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and telecom industry standards.
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities including adoption of emerging technologies like AI/ML for fraud detection, churn prediction, and intelligent promotions optimization

Collaborate across teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
12+ years of experience in telecom IT systems with at least 5+ years in a solution/system architect role.
Telecom industry experience is highly preferred.
Experience in Elastic Path development
Solid experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP, and asynchronous messaging patterns.
Expertise in Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWT for securing APIs.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Experience working with Angular and TypeScript for front-end development.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as PCI, USGCI, or SOX.
Experience working with digital payment systems or transaction lifecycles.
Exposure to Kafka or other event-driven messaging platforms.
Knowledge of API Gateway tools (e.g., Kong, Zuul, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
Communication and Soft Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
Collaborative team player with experience working in cross-functional, agile environments.
Strong analytical thinking and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Comfortable presenting ideas and engaging in technical discussions.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (Required).
Additional certifications in backend technologies, cloud platforms, or security frameworks (Preferred but not required)
Design and build scalable, maintainable, and secure full-stack applications.
Develop backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
Optimize application performance and troubleshoot end-to-end issues.
Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) tests to ensure high code quality.
Leverage AI-driven development tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to boost productivity.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, design discussions, and peer code reviews.
Collaborate across teams to deliver integrated solutions.
