Description

This project focuses on cross-functional diagnostics and resolution of complex system-level issues in embedded Linux/Android platforms. It encompasses fault-tracing across the whole software stack—from kernel to framework—within hypervisor-based and QNX-integrated environments. The scope includes stability, security, multimedia, boot behavior diagnostics, and supporting Google certification processes (xTS) for automotive-grade systems.

Requirements

Must-Have skills:

  • Strong expertise in Embedded C/C++ and Linux/Android kernel-level development and debugging.
  • Deep understanding of system startup/shutdown flows, log analysis, SELinux policies, and Android service management.
  • Proven experience in fault tracing, crash dump analysis, and root-cause identification across multiple system layers.
  • Experience working with QNX, Android Framework, and kernel-space interactions.
  • Solid problem-solving skills in mixed hardware/software environments.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with hypervisor-based architectures and virtualization in embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in building diagnostic tooling, scripting (Python, shell), and automation for debugging and verification workflows.
  • Exposure to automotive-grade SoC platforms, middleware stacks, and multimedia components (e.g., video codecs, A/V pipelines).

Job responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve complex system-wide issues such as boot failures, SELinux violations, ADB connectivity breakdowns, logging framework instability, and Android Bug Report anomalies.
  • Perform deep fault-tracing and root-cause analysis across the kernel, Android framework, middleware, and HAL layers—especially in QNX- or hypervisor-based configurations.
  • Develop diagnostic tools and test enablers to facilitate deeper system visibility and more effective issue reproduction and isolation.
  • Investigate integration issues based on compliance certification tests (CTS, GTS, VTS) on hardware subsystems and vehicle-level setups; analyze results and resolve test failures to ensure certification readiness.
  • Interface with internal engineering teams and external partners to communicate findings, track fixes, and drive resolution timelines.
  • Maintain alignment with evolving Google certification standards and update internal processes and testing pipelines accordingly.
  • Contribute to system verification efforts by automating and scripting repeatable tests and diagnostics where possible.
