Description

Hitachi Global Air Power is embarking on a multi-year digital transformation initiative aimed at delivering innovative solutions to enhance the customer experience and optimize operations across multiple business units.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in backend microservice development using C#.NET
  • 4+ years working on Azure Cloud
  • Must have a robust understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.
  • Expert knowledge of C# and .NET Core/.NET 5+ frameworks, with a strong grasp of object-oriented programming, asynchronous programming, LINQ, and other advanced C# features.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture principles and experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and independently deployable microservices using .NET.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, understanding best practices for API security (e.g., OAuth, JWT), versioning, documentation (using Swagger or similar), and contract design.
  • Proficient with key Azure services relevant to backend development such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management, Azure
  • Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Service Fabric.
  • Experience with Azure Storage options like Blob Storage, Table Storage, and Azure SQL Database.
  • Strong skills in Azure DevOps for building CI/CD pipelines, automation of deployments, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform.
  • Proficiency in managing databases, particularly with SQL Server and other Azure data services like Cosmos DB. Skills should include complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Expertise in Entity Framework Core for ORM, data access layer optimization, and performance.
  • Ability to optimize microservices for performance and scalability, including proficiency with caching strategies, data partitioning, and asynchronous processing.
  • Knowledge of securing web applications and APIs, including encryption, secure coding practices, and understanding of Azure security tools and features.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest for .NET applications, and understanding of test-driven development (TDD).
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring a team of developers. Ability to delegate tasks effectively, manage project timelines, and ensure team cohesion.
  • Strong understanding of Agile software development practices, able to lead Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to collaborate effectively with frontend teams and other IT professionals.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Industrial domain
  • Knowledge of cloud-based architectures and deployment strategies
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as BDD (Specflow)
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git

Job responsibilities

  • System Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of backend microservices to serve AI/ML-powered features and integrate seamlessly with Angular or other frontend applications.
  • Architect services that support model inference, data processing pipelines, and ML lifecycle operations in production environments.
  • Service Scalability and Maintainability: Build scalable, resilient, and maintainable microservices, ensuring high performance, security, and usability in AI-driven backend systems. Develop modular and reusable service components that support dynamic workloads and parallel processing typical of AI/ML applications.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and UX designers to understand functional requirements and translate them into backend architecture and service contracts. Collaborate with frontend developers, ML engineers, DevOps, and QA to ensure consistent delivery and integration across components.
  • Quality Assurance and Standards: Champion coding best practices and enforce consistent standards across the team to maintain clean, maintainable, and production-grade codebases. Conduct in-depth code reviews to promote adherence to quality and performance standards, especially for ML data flow and model integration. Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership in backend architecture, ML deployment practices, and efficient Python coding.
  • Process Optimization and Leadership: Continuously identify and implement improvements in development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and release processes to enhance productivity and delivery velocity. Provide technical input and leadership in sprint planning, story estimation, and Agile ceremonies to drive successful and timely project outcomes.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across services, including model serving, data transformation pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. Conduct performance profiling, bottleneck analysis, and optimization for critical backend systems dealing with AI workloads. Ensure robustness and reliability of services, including implementing failover strategies, caching, and retry logic for model-serving components.
  • Innovation and Technology Advancement: Evaluate emerging Python frameworks, ML serving tools, and cloud-native services that can improve system performance or ML service integration. Lead the adoption and integration of innovative technologies, including containerized ML model serving (e.g., TorchServe, Triton Inference Server, or custom FastAPI solutions).
