Description

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer with 6–8+ years of professional experience to lead the UI development of a scoped, time-bound project. This is a hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise in frontend technologies and a sharp ability to streamline development within tight timelines and budget constraints.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a pragmatic environment—capable of reducing scope smartly, guiding junior developers, and proposing maintainable and efficient implementation approaches that deliver value fast.

You’ll be joining a globally distributed product organization with teammates in Canada, the UK, and across Europe. While many of us enjoy in-person collaboration when possible, we’re fully equipped to support remote work.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of frontend development experience with production-grade systems.
• Strong hands-on expertise in React, TypeScript, Next.js, Apollo GraphQL and Auth0.
• Proficient with: CSS3 features such as (e.g. flex layouts, CSS Variables, media queries), responsive & adaptive layouts, cross-browser compatibility, performance optimization, CSS architecture.
• Proven ability to guide junior engineers and set technical direction within project scope.
• Skilled at identifying and proposing trade-offs and reducing complexity/scope while maintaining quality.
• Experience working within and around established frontend architectures.
• Ability to propose streamlined development strategies that align with budget and timeline constraints.
• Pragmatic mindset with strong understanding of performance, maintainability, and readability.
• Comfortable contributing to and consuming technical documentation and architectural decisions.
• Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and clarity in communication.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and modern backend patterns (microservices, serverless) is a plus.
• Fluent in English.

Job responsibilities

• Contribute directly to a pre-scoped system as part of a defined project initiative, delivering high-quality UI components within timeline and budget expectations.
• Collaborate with engineers and product owners to translate requirements into effective, efficient, and maintainable frontend implementations.
• Ensure code quality, reliability, and performance through thoughtful development practices, including unit testing and documentation.
• Align your work with existing architectural patterns and decisions, integrating cleanly into the established software ecosystem and design systems.
• Document and communicate your work clearly to support smooth deployment, knowledge sharing, and ongoing maintenance.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on timely, high-impact outcomes.
• Participate in demos and sprint reviews, ensuring transparent delivery and technical alignment.
• Where appropriate, mentor junior frontend developers, sharing best practices and guiding implementation decisions.
• Proactively identify opportunities to reduce scope or streamline implementation without sacrificing user value or maintainability.
