Description

GlobalLogic is building a new test automation team for an innovative healthcare robotics project. Their solutions include robotic-assisted systems for surgical procedures like joint replacements, next-generation platforms for multi-specialty surgeries, and flexible systems designed for minimally invasive diagnostics and treatments. 
This role combines hands-on technical work with team leadership in the healthcare robotics sector. You’ll design and implement test automation frameworks for complex electro-mechanical systems used in surgical procedures, ensuring the highest quality standards for life-critical applications.
Working closely with software development teams, you’ll establish testing practices, mentor team members, and contribute directly to code development. The position requires someone comfortable with both technical depth and leadership responsibilities. We are looking for a candidate who can work independently and function well within a team, is self-motivated, diligent, takes testing and automation as their true passion and wants bring software to an outstanding level of reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • 6-8+ years of experience in software development and testing.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming; C++ is a big plus.
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and multithreaded applications.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Batch, Bash) and Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies: white/gray/black box approaches with hands-on experience.
  • Understanding of test methodologies (such as performance, load, stress, functional, unit, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills for identifying issues in complex software systems.

Visa and Travel Requirements: Candidates might be able to obtain US B1 visa within a short timeframe (if you already have one – it’s a big plus). The position requires 6 months of on-site work at the client’s office in the USA.

Optional skills:

  • Software testing for sophisticated electro-mechanical systems (Medical device preferred).
  • Knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and ISO 13485.
  • Experience with automated GUI testing tools such as Squish.
  • Experience with networking tools for troubleshooting issues related to data transfer and performance across a network.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with JIRA or any similar bug tracking tools.
  • Experience with JAMA or any similar test management tools.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and develop test automation system and test fixtures.
  • Implement automated testing solutions for integrated software and hardware components.
  • Lead and mentor the test automation team while maintaining hands-on involvement.
  • Collaborate with software developers to enhance test infrastructure and coverage.
  • Execute various testing methodologies including functional, performance, stress, and unit testing.
  • Analyze test results, track quality metrics, and generate detailed reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.
  • Develop test procedures and documentation for regulatory compliance.
