The client is seeking a highly motivated Mobile Software Engineer in Test with a passion for innovation, collaboration, and solving technical challenges. As the market leader in human insights technology, we are scaling our team, systems, and business—and we want you to be part of that growth.
You will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining mobile automation frameworks that support the quality and scalability of our iOS and Android applications. With a solid foundation in mobile development, architecture, and testing, you’ll help ensure our products are reliable, performant, and user-centric.
Our Mobile Software Engineers in Test are integral partners in the development lifecycle. You will work closely with a distributed team of passionate engineers in an Agile environment, contributing to a variety of SaaS projects that reach users around the globe.

You’ll be joining a globally distributed product organization with teammates in Canada, the UK, and across Europe. While many of us enjoy in-person collaboration when possible, we’re fully equipped to support remote work.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment with short turnaround times.
  • Experience in automation frameworks and test strategy/plan development for web-based applications; ex: UI, API, and performance testing.
  • Understand and be a part of the development process.
  • Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture.
  • Experience with client-side performance optimization, security, and accessibility.
  • Engineering practices such as refactoring, TDD, CI/CD, pair programming, and code reviews.
  • Experience with agile development processes such as Lean/Scrum/Kanban/XP.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate the Client’s values through work product and within day-to-day team interactions.

Education and Experience:

  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining scalable mobile test automation frameworks using tools such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in designing, writing, and executing automated test cases for both Android and iOS mobile applications.
  • Solid understanding of Android development concepts, including experience with Kotlin, Java, and modern Android frameworks like Jetpack
  • Compose to inform effective testing strategies.
  • Good grasp of iOS development fundamentals, with hands-on experience using Swift, the iOS SDK, UIKit, and Xcode, as well as familiarity with iOS-specific frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of mobile application architectures and design patterns such as MVC, MVP, and MVVM, enabling robust and maintainable test design.
  • Proven ability to test mobile apps that integrate with RESTful APIs and third-party services, ensuring end-to-end functionality and interoperability.
  • Competent testing knowledge (Playwright, Cypress, API testing, etc.).
  • Good background in Software Quality concepts, process, and testing types.
  • At least 2+ years of related experience is required, with 1+ years of technical automation testing/framework experience.
  • Experience working at all stages in the software development life cycle.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment with distributed remote teams.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Work closely with technical and subject matter experts to deliver class leading products.
  • Contribute to ongoing test automation work within the Quality Engineering team.
  • Write scalable, performant, maintainable code.
  • Measure and report test automation metrics, including code, function, and test case coverage.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, to regularly solicit and act on feedback, focus on root causes, and continually strive to improve.
  • Introduce and/or work on frameworks that can be used for automation.
  • Review code throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Leverage your technical skills to bolster and expand our Quality team’s effectiveness.
  • Create tools that can be used by others.
  • Make sure the product is reliable, scalable, and performant.
  • Take part in software design discussions.
  • Take part in planning discussions.
