We are kicking off the development of a next-generation media experience for a locally run web application embedded in a multimedia touchscreen kiosk. Designed for 4K resolution, this application will offer a highly dynamic, modular user experience combining real-time UI transitions, rich animations, video compositing, and interactive touch interfaces.
This is not a traditional website or corporate dashboard. We are pushing the limits of web technologies to deliver a polished, high-performance product that feels more like a native multimedia application than a web page.

Requirements

7+ years developing for the web with some of the following: React, NodeJS, AngularJS, JavaScript,
HTML5, CSS
• Strong understanding of software development principles and methodology, including Agile and
software design patterns
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
• Good with people and communicates well
• A best practice driven approach to software development
• Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins, Docker, AWS

• Deep understanding of browser rendering pipelines, performance bottlenecks, and hardware acceleration strategies.
• Proven experience designing modular front-end architectures that scale and can support independent surface/component orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with animation frameworks (e.g., GSAP, Framer Motion, Anime.js) and custom transitions.
• Solid knowledge of media playback, compositing, and responsive/adaptive UI design for 4K displays.
• Strong grasp of touchscreen interaction models and building smooth, natural-feeling UI for touch devices.
• Familiarity with WebGL, Canvas API, and custom rendering strategies for visual effects and overlays.

Bonus Skills:

•  Experience with Chromium-based kiosk environments or offline-capable PWAs.
• Experience designing plugin or orchestration architectures for modular UI systems.
• Exposure to multimedia systems, live playback pipelines, or real-time data-driven
  visualizations.
• Familiarity with Node.js, Electron, or NW.js for packaged desktop/web hybrid apps.

 

Job responsibilities

As the Web Tech Lead, you will:
• Define the application architecture and select the most appropriate web technologies for the task (frameworks, rendering strategies, animation libraries, etc.).
• Set the modular and scalable structure of the application to support multiple independently managed UI sections and interactive surfaces.
• Design and prototype advanced UI behaviors, including smooth animations, transitions, surface compositing, touch interaction patterns, and dynamic state-driven layout updates.
• Guide the implementation of high-performance media playback and hardware-accelerated rendering (e.g., using WebGL, Canvas, or CSS3 hardware optimizations).
• Work closely with project leads to align user experience goals with technical feasibility.
• Lead and mentor a small team of skilled developers (to be hired), ensuring code quality, modularity, and adherence to performance standards.
