Our client is an innovative manufacturer of medical devices in the United States, producing integrated device hardware, firmware, web, and mobile software applications. In this project, you will be involved in the full development life cycle of medical software intended to help individuals by processing device data to track health trends and daily activities.
Requirements
As a Senior System Engineer within the Company Research & Systems Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of technical projects spanning SaaS, Web technologies, Mobile technologies, and Firmware in the context of addressing unmet clinical needs. You will work with a talented team to develop a deep understanding of our end-to-end systems, participating in architecture and design creation, and driving the execution of software projects throughout their development life cycle.

– Work with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to research, define, and write technical requirements for software components and systems.
– Participate in system architecture and software design creation.
– Plan and perform design history file (DHF) updates, facilitate V&V, and support integration testing with the Software QA team.
– Define and implement cybersecurity best practices across software and connected systems.
– Participate in risk management and hazards analysis activities.
– Rapidly prototype software and write scripts for research and development needs.
Required Qualifications
– 5+ years of system/software engineering experience in Healthcare, Medical Device, or another Regulated software industry.
– Proven experience working on projects utilizing Scrum and Agile methodologies.
– Hands-on software development experience in one or more languages (Python, Java, C#, or C/C++) alongside experience with Web technologies and Firmware.
– Proficiency in UML, database design (SQL & NoSQL), and modern software development methodologies.
– Cybersecurity: Strong understanding and application of cybersecurity principles in medical or regulated environments.
– Integration Testing: Good understanding of integration testing strategies for complex multi-component systems.
– Experience developing technical product and software requirements.
– Experience with failure mode analysis (dFMEA, uFMEA), risk management, human factors, and usability engineering processes (UI/UX).
– Proficiency in Linux/Unix/Windows environments.
– BA/BS in science or technical field; Advanced engineering degree desired.
Preferred Qualifications
– AWS and other Cloud technologies experience is a huge advantage.
– Experience leading small to medium-sized projects is an advantage.
– Experience with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and IEC standards (62304, 14971, and 62366).
