Description

You will be joining the project, an enterprise-grade software solution designed to help energy organization calculate, monitor, and reduce their CO2 footprint. The project is entering a critical phase of enhancement, moving beyond simple tracking to provide robust, data-driven calculation tools for sustainable materials and operational efficiency.

 

The project involves two main applications:

1. The first application is designed to visualize and analyze the estimated environmental footprint of a project during the tender stage. This application helps our client respond to proposals by providing an environmental footprint estimation for various pieces of equipment they sell. It currently has blueprints for about 11 items. The application generates reports that are included in the tender response to clients.
2. The second application performs an environmental impact assessment and generates reports for the actual construction phase of a project. It collects carbon and environmental impact data across five categories: site usage (water, electricity, materials), people traveling to and from the site, machinery used on site, and shipping for materials going back and forth from the site.

 

The project’s tech stack consists of a React-based static website with Ant Design for styling on the front end, and an API built on Strapi.js (an open-source Node.js headless CMS) with a MySQL backend. The application is hosted on Azure.

 

GlobalLogic will contribute to enhancing the applications with new features such as:

• Implement an administrative UI/UX
• Develop a new product environmental footprint methodology
• Add project statuses
• Link both applications together
• Improve filtering
• Add project-level permissions
• Implement a bulk change feature

Requirements

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Manual QA Engineer to join the Core Team of a high-impact enterprise sustainability project. In this role, you will act as the “guardian of quality” for the platform, ensuring that complex CO2 emission calculations and critical data management features function flawlessly. If you are a methodical tester who enjoys breaking down complex logic, verifying data integrity via SQL, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a Microsoft Azure environment, we want to hear from you.

 

As the Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end quality assurance of the platform. You will work within a cross-functional Core Team alongside a Tech Lead, Solution Architect, Business Analyst, and Full-stack Developers.

This role requires more than just following test scripts; it demands a deep understanding of the business domain. You will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of sustainability metrics, and ensuring that legacy “As-Is” functionality is not compromised by new updates. You will spend your time designing comprehensive test strategies, executing complex test cases (both UI and API), and performing direct data verification in the database.

 

We are looking for someone who:

• Has 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer.
• Has extensive experience in Manual Testing methodologies for complex enterprise web applications.
• Possesses strong SQL skills (MySQL) to perform backend data verification and integrity checks.
• Is proficient in API Testing using tools like Postman or Swagger to validate REST endpoints.
• Has experience testing applications built on Node.js and React within the Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
• Can collaborate closely with Business Analysts to convert complex requirements into rigorous test scenarios.
• Has excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Has upper Intermediate English.

Job responsibilities

Test Strategy & Execution

• Design, document, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features, specifically focusing on CO2 calculation logic and data management.
• Perform thorough Regression Testing before every release to ensure stability across the legacy system.
• Conduct API Testing to verify data exchange between the React frontend and Node.js backend.
• Execute Cross-Browser testing to ensure a consistent user experience.

 

Data Integrity & Compliance

• Perform direct SQL queries to validate that data is being stored, updated, and calculated correctly in the MySQL database.
• Verify the implementation of the new Audit Trail and Forensic Logging features, ensuring they meet strict compliance and traceability standards.
• Validate data migration and User-Managed Emission Factor updates to ensure no data corruption occurs.

 

Collaboration & Process

• Work closely with the Tech Lead and developers to isolate steps to reproduce complex bugs.
• Collaborate with the Business Analyst to ensure acceptance criteria are clear, testable, and cover edge cases.
• Maintain the defect tracking lifecycle, ensuring bugs are properly documented, prioritized, and re-tested upon resolution.
• Contribute to the documentation of the system by validating “As-Is” functional descriptions.
