Job Summary

 

The Design Operations Scrum Master is a critical part of company’s Product Design group, aiding in our never-ending mission to deliver the simplest and most frictionless user experience possible, one that enables all customers to achieve maximum productivity while maintaining safe and secure access. The Design Operations Scrum Master is responsible for streamlining and optimizing the design process within the Company, supporting each Product Design Team Lead in optimizing design processes and improving inter- and intra-team collaboration across multiple product teams, ultimately ensuring efficient design workflows, optimal resource allocation and consistent quality of delivery.

Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of professional experience as Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Creative or Design Operations Manager or Specialist, or similar role is required
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent Agile certification
  • Demonstrable professional experience in Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.). with recent examples to highlight that demonstrate mastery of Agile principles and practices
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams employing Agile methodologies, including rapid design iteration, prototyping, writing user stories and an expert in Agile project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Well-versed in UX and passionate about user advocacy
  • Ability to take direction and guidance well, ask for feedback early and often, and collaborate with Product Management, Engineering and Design team members to meet deadlines
  • A good listener who can build trust with others, with excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Expert problem solving skills with a consistent willingness to go above and beyond to support teams in delivering quality work on-time
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure, able to pivot plans and priorities as needed
  • Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools for daily tasks to improve efficiency
  • Health care and enterprise software experience preferred
  • English fluency, both verbal and written

Job responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Establish and manage your agile team ceremonies, supporting multiple Product Design Team Leads to standardize design processes
  • Design and optimize scalable processes that can be institutionalized across distributed design teams
  • Continually remove impediments, enabling the team to work efficiently and focus on the highest priority work
  • Identify and escalate risks and capacity challenges to the Product Design Team Lead and Product Manager, offering innovative solutions
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities across the design organization to become more collaborative, unified, efficient and effective
  • Adapt and mature the design team’s agile methodology, coaching team members on Agile principles and practices
  • Build and analyze agile reports, providing critical insight to the team
  • Support designer resource forecasting and capacity planning, including ownership of velocity tracking and resource utilization
  • Monitor current and upcoming sprint timelines and workflows to proactively identify roadblocks, raise escalations, and help keep design work on track
  • Understand business requirements and ensure that all UX and UI design deliverables effectively meet those, incorporating acceptance criteria and risk mitigation best practices
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate closely with cross-functional stakeholders – Product Design, Product Management and Engineering counterparts – throughout the entire product life cycle, building strong working relationships that ensure key decisions incorporate design and user-centric considerations
  • Maintain and improve team documentation, including document templates, onboarding guides and process playbooks, to support clarity and efficiency
  • Drive projects to completion with minimal supervision, meeting deadlines, delivering on requirements, supporting development and communicating issues early on to mitigate risks
  • Continually seek out and stay abreast of new and evolving Agile/Scrum best practices and standards, building and delivering training and educational content on best practices, tools and methods
  • Other duties as assigned and required
