Description

DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will join our Infrastructure team to build pipelines and manage the infrastructure essential for developing highly scalable and available 5G network management applications in cloud environments.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (IT, Telecom) preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a DevOps role or similar position.
• Strong practical knowledge of OpenStack and VMWare as well as containerization and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Understanding of networking (routing, VPNs)
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles and proficiency in CI/CD automation with relevant tooling (Jenkins, Ansible, Spinnaker).
• Proficiency in Bash and Python programming languages.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills in a highly collaborative team environment
• Advanced user level proficiency in Jira.
• Knowledge of Telecom Core (4G, 5G), OSS products and related infrastructure is a plus

Job responsibilities

• Develop a CI/CD Build System for efficient release from developer to customer site.
• Design, specify, implement, and test CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and integrate infrastructure from open-source components.
• Proactively contribute to the CI Team Backlog and suggest improvements.
• Provide governance and advice to development teams on CI machinery usage.
• Translate customer needs into detailed technical solutions.
• Develop in-house automation for cost savings and productivity improvements.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair bugs within production code.
• Contribute to project plans and participate in all project phases.
• Continuously improve, adjust, and optimize solutions and processes.
• Collaborate effectively with other engineering teams.
• Trial and evaluate new platforms, languages, frameworks, and tools for CI/CD flow.
• Work on containerized solutions with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Support and develop OpenStack test environments.

 

Engineering Environment Activities and Technologies:

Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Automating code integration and deployment to production environments using tools like Jenkins.

DevOps Practices: Automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes with tools like Ansible and Kubernetes.

Cloud Deployment: Experience with VM-based deployment and management, cloud-native development, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Managing and provisioning infrastructure resources using code (e.g., Terraform) for declarative infrastructure definition.

Monitoring and Logging: Utilizing Prometheus and Grafana for system performance monitoring, application log tracking, and real-time troubleshooting.
Version Control: Proficiency with version control systems like Gerrit for managing code repositories, tracking changes, and facilitating collaboration.
Agile Methodologies: Adherence to Agile principles (Scrum or Kanban) for iterative software development and active participation in grooming and follow-up meetings.
Automation and Scripting: Leveraging scripting languages like Python and Bash to automate repetitive tasks and improve productivity.
Security Practices: Knowledge of security best practices, vulnerability management, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) for secure engineering environments.
