About the Role
We are seeking a Solutions/System/ Applications Architect with expertise in the telecommunications domain, particularly in BSS systems – Billing and Order Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining, designing, and leading the implementation of scalable and robust solutions aligned with business and technology goals. You will work across product management, engineering, and operations teams to drive transformation initiatives. The role requires strong expertise in solution and system architecture, microservices, and Java/Spring boot with solid experience in APIs. Cloud-native skills (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and telecom system performance optimization are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Lead solution and system architecture design for telecom BSS systems in the area of customer management, product management, revenue management, order management etc.
Translate complex telecom BSS processes—such as Order-to-Cash (O2C), real-time and batch charging/rating, promotions, discounts, bundling, and subscriber lifecycle management—into scalable, maintainable, and high-performing technical architectures.
Architect and implement microservices-based solutions using the Java/Spring boot technology stack, ensuring modularity, reusability, and ease of integration.
Define APIs using REST, GraphQL,TMF OpenAPIs, enabling seamless integration between billing platforms, CRM, mediation, provisioning, payment gateways, and external systems.
Define solutions using Kafka, RabbitMQ for event-driven architecture
Define integrations with security systems using OAuth 2, Keyclock, SAML etc.
Work with DBs: Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Couchbase DB, Mongo DB, Elasticsearch etc.
Drive system integration efforts involving complex data modeling and enterprise messaging frameworks to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely data flow across the telecom ecosystem.
Champion cloud-native architecture and deployment best practices across AWS, Azure, or GCP platforms, incorporating containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for scalable and resilient system delivery.
Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to establish and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, facilitating automated testing, deployment, and monitoring of billing and charging solutions.
Support performance tuning, stress testing, and optimization activities for large-scale telecom billing systems, ensuring SLAs for billing cycle time, charging latency, and system throughput are consistently met.
Engage effectively with technical and business stakeholders, producing clear, comprehensive architectural documentation, solution blueprints, and communication artifacts to facilitate alignment and informed decision-making.
Support adoption of emerging technologies like AI/ML for various telecom related use cases
What You Bring
Experience:
10+ years of experience in telecom IT systems with at least 2+ years in a solution/system architect role.
Telecom industry experience is mandatory.
AI/ML exposure or experience with AI-driven solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with other telecom BSS vendors (e.g., Amdocs, Netcracker, Ericsson, Huawei).
Knowledge of TM Forum Frameworks (eTOM, SID, TAM), ODA, OpenAPI etc.
Exposure to data governance, regulatory compliance, and data quality frameworks.
Architecture Certifications like cloud architecture (GCP/AWS/Azure Solutions Architect), TOGAF etc.
Prior experience in working with Agile/sprint model
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to break down complex technical topics for business stakeholders
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with shifting priorities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to tell compelling stories with data.
