Description

The Digital Health organization is a technology team focused on next-generation Digital Health capabilities which deliver on the  mission and vision to deliver Insight Driven Care. This role will operate within the Digital Health Applications & Interoperability subgroup of the broader Digital Health team, focused on patient engagement, care coordination, AI, healthcare analytics & interoperability amongst other advanced technologies which enhance our product portfolio with new services, while improving clinical & patient experiences.

Requirements

• Advanced skills in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Strong experience with React.js and modern React patterns (hooks, composition, reusable components)
• Material-UI (MUI) for building consistent, accessible user interfaces
• HTML/CSS
• Experience with modern frontend build tools such as Vite, Webpack, CRACO or similar
• Experience writing unit and integration tests for frontend applications
• Source Code Management: Expertise with git commands and associated VCS (Gitlab, Github, Gitea or similar)
• Agile/Scrum development environments 

NICE TO HAVE

• Previous Healthcare, Medical Device, or Clinical Research experience
• Experience with modern state management and data-fetching libraries (e.g. Jotai, TanStack Query or similar)
• Experience building and validating complex forms using libraries such as React Hook Form, Yup or equivalent
• Experience working with medical data or medical imaging, especially DICOM
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and standards (e.g. HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2)
• Experience working with data-heavy applications and complex UI workflows
• Understanding of UI/UX best practices for professional and enterprise-grade applications
• Experience collaborating with distributed or cross-functional teams
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)

Job responsibilities

• Develops, documents, and configures frontend system specifications that adhere to established architecture standards and meet evolving business requirements, with an emphasis on React, TypeScript, and Material UI.
• Maintains high-quality, scalable web applications, supporting multiple React modules within a cohesive product ecosystem.
• Collaborates closely with backend engineers to integrate RESTful APIs and cloud-based microservices, ensuring reliable and secure data flow throughout the application.
• Works closely with UI/UX designers to assess and ensure the technical feasibility and accurate implementation of user interface designs.
• Implements and maintains robust frontend architecture focused on performance, readability, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Identifies frontend functionality or performance bottlenecks, executes optimizations, and validates improvements to ensure effective data handling and an optimal user experience.
• Configures modern state management and data-fetching solutions for complex, data-driven user interfaces using standard libraries and best practices.
• Writes, maintains, and documents comprehensive unit tests, performing necessary debugging to ensure high code quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Participates in code reviews and technical discussions, offering constructive feedback and promoting established frontend best practices within the engineering team.
• Contributes to key architectural and technical decisions, ensuring that frontend solutions align with business objectives and technical standards
• Ensures frontend system implementations comply with global and local regulatory, privacy, and security standards (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2, ISO 27001)
• Supports the ongoing development and evolution of a long-term product serving the clinical research and medical imaging domain, including documenting technical system specifications and assisting with deployment planning and maintenance
