Description
We are developing an app for the motor partner personal insurance for one of the largest UK insurance companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. We’re looking for a mature mobile developer to join our distributed team.
Focus: Android-led Mobile Development (Native Kotlin & Swift) + API / Python integrations
Requirements
Primary Mobile Capabilities:
- Android (Primary): Strong native Android development expertise using Kotlin (and Java legacy knowledge where applicable).
- iOS (Secondary/Cross-functional): Working knowledge/experience with Swift for iOS support or cross-platform collaboration.
Backend & API Capabilities:
- Experience working with and developing RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with Python for API integrations, backend services, or scripting support.
Good level of English
Job responsibilities
- Contribute to and maintain Client’s existing mobile application codebase.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain mobile features in line with product requirements.
- Deliver regular updates, improvements, and bug fixes while maintaining a high standard of code quality.
- Integrate and work with backend services and APIs to support mobile application functionality.
- Collaborate closely with backend engineers, product managers, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end features.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, performance problems, and production bugs.
- Follow established coding standards, architecture patterns, and development practices within the existing codebase.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the maintainability and reliability of the application.
- Ensure new and existing functionality is thoroughly tested and works reliably across supported devices and OS versions.
- Support the continuous improvement of the mobile development process, tooling, and technical practices.
