Description

As Tech Lead , you will be responsible for the technical delivery of application-layer software spanning areas such as connectivity, ADAS and perception, HMI and infotainment, reference applications, and developer tooling.

You will act as the primary technical authority within the Application Lab, ensuring that application-layer solutions align with the broader SDV platform architecture while meeting customer expectations, commercial commitments, and quality requirements.

Working closely with Product Managers, Capability Owners, System Architects, and engineering teams across multiple labs, you will establish technical direction, guide architectural decisions, and help engineers deliver robust, scalable, and production-ready software solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, customer engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical direction as a Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, Software Architect, or similar senior technical role.
• Experience working with connectivity, ADAS, perception, infotainment, or developer platform technologies.
• Extensive experience developing embedded software in C++ within automotive or another safety-critical or quality-critical industry.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of software architecture principles and application-layer design for embedded systems.
• Experience defining and enforcing software engineering standards, code quality practices, and review processes.
• Experience with AUTOSAR Classic and/or Adaptive configuration and integration.
• Experience defining unit-testing strategies and software quality processes.
• Experience from software-defined vehicle platforms.
• Experience working directly with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or software platform vendors.
• Exposure to commercial product development, business cases, and customer-facing technical engagements

Job responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and drive architectural and implementation decisions for ADAS and/or infotainment software development using C++.
• Translate product requirements and business priorities into clear technical plans, development tasks, and delivery milestones.
• Guide software developers in design, implementation, code reviews, debugging, and optimization, ensuring high standards of code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with system architects, software engineers, testers, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across software components and systems.
• Drive technical problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex software issues across development and integration environments.
• Evaluate technical solutions, challenge assumptions, and drive informed decisions that balance system requirements, technical feasibility, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across teams, sites, and engineering labs to manage technical dependencies, resolve conflicts, and maintain alignment on development priorities.
• Communicate technical risks, implementation trade-offs, progress, and recommendations to engineering leadership and relevant stakeholders.
• Promote best practices in modern C++ development, software design, coding standards, unit testing, and continuous integration.
• Drive technical reviews and ensure compliance with project architecture, coding guidelines, quality standards, and automotive software development processes.
• Build strong working relationships and influence technical decisions across teams without relying on direct people-management authority.
• Maintain a pragmatic, delivery-focused, and customer-oriented approach while ensuring robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
