Description
Our customer owns and operates several of the most popular and award-winning brands in cable television in USA producing and delivering distinctive, compelling and culturally relevant content that engages audiences across multiple platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js
- Solid understanding of JavaScript and asynchronous programming, including Promises, async/await and event-driven architecture
- Experience designing, developing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services
- Strong knowledge of database design, query optimization & data modeling
- Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms, API security and secure coding practices
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative software development workflows
- Experience writing automated tests and maintaining high code quality standards
- Familiarity with application deployment, environment configuration, logging, monitoring and production troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
- Experience with PHP, including backend application development and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with Drupal CMS, including custom module development, API integrations, configuration and maintenance
Job responsibilities
- Backend Development: Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and applications using Node.js and Express.js
- API Development: Build, document and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and external systems
- System Architecture: Contribute to backend architecture, technical design decisions & implementation of scalable and maintainable solutions
- Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas, queries and data access layers, working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Performance Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and resource utilization
- Security: Implement backend security best practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, secure data handling and protection against common vulnerabilities.
