The client operates a luxury property rental platform featuring high-end properties, including villas across the UK. The project involves testing new features and functionality to ensure a high-quality user experience and reliable platform performance.
Requirements
We’re looking for a mature Performance tester with solid experience in the following:
- Setting up performance testing frameworks from scratch.
- Working with React, PHP (Laravel), Headless WordPress and AWS.
- Locating latency spikes across payment gateways (Stripe, PayPal) and third-party APIs (e.g., Airbnb sync).
- Using tools like k6, JMeter, Gatling or Locust to stress test APIs and web apps.
- Scripting Core Flows: Benchmarking key user journeys (search, booking, checkout) under high load.
- Good level of English
Job responsibilities
- Define, implement and maintain a lightweight performance testing setup tailored to the platform architecture.
- Build test scripts for critical user journeys, including page loads, search/booking engine throughput and checkout operations.
- Diagnose performance issues across middleware, caching layers and backend APIs, prioritizing the audit of recent checkout latency spikes (e.g., PayPal integration).
- Test and benchmark API communication, queuing and throughput under load for owner portals and third-party channel integrators (e.g., Airbnb).
- Partner with dev/infra teams to deliver actionable optimization findings and create reusable documentation for existing QA engineers to run ongoing checks.
