Description
GlobalLogic estimates the starting base salary for the remote JDE (AS/400) / WMi Developer role in Canada to be between 130,000 CAD and 140,000 CAD and reflects base salary only and does not include additional performance-linked variable compensation, benefits etc that may be applicable for the role. This pay range is provided as a good faith estimate and the amount offered may be higher or lower. GlobalLogic takes many factors into consideration in making an offer, including candidate qualifications, work experience, operational needs, travel and onsite requirements, internal peer equity, prevailing wage, responsibilities, and other market and business considerations.
Requirements
• 5+ years of enterprise application development experience.
• Strong development experience with JD Edwards running on IBM AS/400 / IBM i.
• Hands-on knowledge of IBM i technologies, preferably including:
o DB2 for i
o RPG / RPGLE
o CL / CLLE
o Batch jobs and job queues
o File and database processing
• Experience supporting or developing integrations between JDE and WMS platforms.
• Hands-on experience with WMi or a comparable on-premise Warehouse Management System.
• Experience with middleware/integration frameworks; MIF experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of logistics, warehouse operations, inventory, and supply-chain processes.
• Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and production-support skills.
• Experience with batch, file, database, API, and messaging-based interfaces.
Job responsibilities
• Design, develop, enhance, test, and support solutions involving JDE on AS/400 / IBM i, WMi, and MIF.
• Develop and maintain interfaces between JDE and warehouse-management systems.
• Work with legacy IBM i components, batch jobs, database objects, files, and integration processes.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions across ERP, WMS, and middleware platforms.
• Troubleshoot production issues across JDE, WMi, MIF, DB2, batch processes, interfaces, and downstream systems.
• Support core supply-chain workflows including:
o Order processing
o Inventory movements
o Receiving
o Put-away
o Picking
o Packing
o Shipping
o Replenishment
o Warehouse transfers
o Shipment confirmation
• Perform impact analysis for changes across interconnected systems.
• Develop and maintain interfaces using batch files, database transactions, messaging, APIs, or other integration mechanisms.
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, reconciliation, and error-handling mechanisms.
• Support testing, release management, deployment, production support, and hypercare.
• Create technical documentation, interface specifications, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Work closely with the Architect, business analysts, supply-chain teams, and production-support teams.
