The client aims to transform development and L3 support operations by establishing a strategic partnership with GlobalLogic, aiming to set up self-sufficient pods to support cross-portfolio initiatives, including sustenance of current platforms and also evolving their products through the modernization of the tech-stack and implementation of advanced data analytics and microservices-based solutions.
Requirements
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our
engineering team. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of professional experience
building scalable, high-performance web applications using modern PHP and MariaDB. You will
play a key role in architecting system solutions, optimizing database performance, developing
robust APIs, and mentoring other team members.
● 8+ years of proven hands-on experience in software development, focusing on backend
web architecture.
● Expert-level proficiency in PHP (7.x / 8.x) and strong experience with modern PHP
frameworks (e.g., [Laravel, Symfony, etc. – Please specify preferred framework]).
● Deep expertise in MariaDB / MySQL, including advanced query writing, schema design,
indexing, and performance tuning.
● Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and modern software
design patterns.
● Extensive experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
● Solid experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative workflows (Pull
Requests, branch management).
● Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of complex tasks.
● Excellent communication skills in English [Add other languages if needed].

Key Responsibilities
● Architecture & Development: Architect, develop, test, and maintain robust backend
systems and microservices using modern PHP.
● Database Management: Design, optimize, and maintain complex relational databases
using MariaDB, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
● API Integration: Build, maintain, and secure RESTful APIs [and/or GraphQL] for
seamless integration with frontend applications and third-party services.
● Code Quality & Leadership: Lead code reviews, enforce coding standards (SOLID
principles, Design Patterns), and mentor junior/mid-level developers.
● Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize complex
database queries, and troubleshoot production issues.
● Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, QA,
Frontend Developers) to deliver features from conception to deployment.
