— Piotr R. Frankowski,
Automotive Journalist

One of the most well-known Polish car journalists, whose articles appear in over a dozen countries around the world. Piotr will present his views on the phenomenon of fake news in the automotive industry. According to Piotr, the automotive world is a favourite playground of politicians and media organisations, and the average car user is often portrayed as a danger to society – very much like in the late 19th century. For example, Ralph Nader’s portrayal of the Chevrolet Corvair as unsafe was inaccurate as NBC cheated viewers by rigging explosives in pickup trucks, and there was no unintended acceleration in Toyota hybrids. Piotr addresses the following question: Is the current wave of publications condemning diesels, with controversial “proof”, just another example of automotive fake news?
